Shrimp in Creole Butter

 

The different peppers in this recipe truly bring out

the full flavor of the shrimp. Choose this if you need

a hot appetizer that can be prepped early and cooked

quickly as your guests arrive.

1 cup of butter

1 teaspoon of green onions, thinly sliced

4 teaspoons of bell or poblano peppers, minced

3 teaspoons of India relish

3 tablespoons of prepared pimentos, diced

1 teaspoon of garlic, minced

1 teaspoon of smoked paprika

Sea salt to taste

2 pounds of raw shrimp, peeled

Combine all ingredients thoroughly, except for the

shrimp, and place in a saute pan. Bring to a simmer,

adding and tossing the shrimp evenly until pink and

curled…only two to three minutes depending on size.

Remove to a deep, pre-heated platter. Serve immediately

with cocktail picks, chunks of French bread on the side

for dipping in the butter, and plenty of napkins.
