Hot Cranberry Jack Dip

Here is a special dish with a Southwestern accent

to offer on Christmas evening or any other winter

night! A colorful blend of cranberries and cheese

with a bit of a bite. I hope you enjoy it.

1 package of fresh cranberries

1 ½ cups of light brown sugar

6 green onions, thinly sliced

¼ cup of cilantro, minced

1 jalapeno pepper, ribbed and seeded

1 teaspoon of oregano

1 teaspoon of lime zest

1 teaspoon of cumin

1 pound of Monterrey Jack cheese, shredded

1 half cup of sour cream

Smoked Paprika

Roughly chop the cranberries and cook as directed on

the package, along with the brown sugar. When the

cranberry juice starts thickening, add the next six

ingredients. Simmer for about six or eight minutes and

stir in the cheese and cream. Spoon into an earthenware

serving container and dust with smoked paprika. We like

tortilla chips for dipping.
