Sisters of the Sea Pate

This poached seafood pate requires some planning

but is easy to prepare, colorful, and delicious. You’ll

certainly be the first on your block to offer such a

unique appetizer!  Excellent warm or chilled.


1 pound of grouper or monkfish

3 eggs

28 ounces of whipping cream

3 tablespoons of smoked lox, diced

3 tablespoons of steamed shrimp, diced

3 tablespoons of parsley, minced

1 teaspoon of lemon zest

1 teaspoon of dill

Sea salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste


In a food processor, puree the fish with the eggs and

cream. Pour into a bowl and stir in the remaining

ingredients. Place in a buttered loaf pan, cover with

foil, and set into a larger pan with two inches of water.

Bake in a 375 degree oven for an hour and a half.

Let rest for 20 minutes before serving thin slices

with buttered melba toast.
