Opelousas Popcorn

Try not to let the kernels fall down the front of

your shirt as you inhale this Cajun treat…and

you can control the heat by adding more or

less cayenne pepper. I’ll give you my favorite

quantities!

3 quarts of popped corn, unsalted and unbuttered

5 tablespoons real butter

2 teaspoons sea salt

½ teaspoon liquid crab boil

½ teaspoon of garlic powder

¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper

 

Put butter, salt, crab boil, garlic powder, and

cayenne pepper in a pyrex cup and microwave

for 30 seconds. Remove popcorn from the popper or

the microwave, place in a large bowl, pour butter

mixture over, and toss quickly and thoroughly.
