Olive Nuggets

Here’s a guarantee: you will only find a few miniscule

crumbs from this hors d’oeuvres when the party is over.

That’s why we make plenty of them and freeze, first on a

cookie sheet, then in a plastic bag, so that we are sure to

have enough on hand. My version uses smoky paprika and

cayenne which can be eliminated from the recipe for the

faint of heart.

1 quarter pound of sharp cheddar cheese, grated

¼ cup of butter

¾ cup of well-sifted flour

1 teaspoon of smoky paprika

1 teaspoon of cayenne pepper

36 stuffed green olives

Blend butter and cheese, adding flour and seasonings to form dough.

Roll out and pull off enough to wrap around each olive. Put on an

ungreased cookie sheet and bake at 400 degrees for 12 to 15

minutes until light brown.
